“Pink Lemonade” by Lauren Marie Grant

My brain is still like the open can of tecate on my fire escape
I drink more yerba mate so I can stay awake throughout the day
Sometimes I lay on Andrew’s cold kitchen floor
and write about every guy I’d like to screw while he does the dishes
My entire life is comprised of pink lemonade and painkillers
Noncommittal beards who are just fillers
I will kiss every cashier in plaid available on Valencia street
and not be completely satisfied with anybody that I meet
I am magnetized to always being
the person who loves more than they are loved back
and focuses more on the sweet than the bitter
while drowning herself in dark liquor and
figuring out how to get high quicker.
